Where possible, provide a custom fit user experience based on a user’s interaction history. Act in the user’s interests, leveraging existing knowledge about their identity and browsing habits.
Task Based Navigation
Allow users to organize their tabs, history, downloaded files, and other resources according to the task they were attempting to accomplish. Provide support for executing common web-based tasks, mash-up style, without having to visit a website.
Web Application Support
Blur the distinction between web and desktop applications, providing web developers with the tools required to create rich application experiences for a user who is connected or disconnected from the Internet. Act as the intermediary between web applications and the user’s OS desktop.
System Integration
Integrate with the look and feel of the host operating system, including data-level interactions with existing system services such as dictionaries.
Firefox 3.6 is built on Mozilla’s Gecko 1.9.2 web rendering platform, which has been under development since early 2009 and contains many improvements for web developers, add-on developers, and users. Errore disco dinamico esterno non in linea
Ho due hd ide,uno su cui ho installato vista da 80 gb ed uno da 300 gb che utilizzo come backup....Solo che dopo che ho installato vista non mi vede più il disco da 300...mi dice che non è in linea e mi da solo l'opportunità di convertirlo in disco di base perdendo però tutti i dati...come posso risolvere?
Ti rispondo io che ho incontrato il problema esattamente martedì perchè avevo due hd ide (uno di sistema-riconosciuto e uno di documenti-NON riconosciuto perchè "NON in linea") con dei documenti recuperati dal vecchio pc. Ho letto 'sta roba che si riferisce ad XP Home, ma Vista a quanto pare si comporta nella stessa maniera:

Lo stato Esterno viene visualizzato quando si sposta un disco dinamico nel computer locale da un altro computer in cui è in esecuzione Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP 64-bit Edition (Itanium) o uno dei sistemi operativi della famiglia Windows Server 2003. Lo stato Esterno viene inoltre visualizzato nei computer con Windows XP Home Edition configurati per l'avvio doppio con un altro sistema operativo che utilizza dischi dinamici, ad esempio Windows 2000 Professional o Windows XP Professional. I dischi dinamici non sono supportati in Windows XP Home Edition o nei computer portatili. Per i dischi con stato Esterno viene visualizzata un'icona di avviso.
Per accedere ai dati presenti nel disco, è necessario aggiungere il disco alla configurazione di sistema del computer. Per aggiungere un disco alla configurazione di sistema del computer, importare il disco esterno. A questo scopo, fare clic con il pulsante destro del mouse sul disco e quindi scegliere Importa dischi esterni. Una volta importato il disco esterno, tutti i volumi che contiene risulteranno visibili e accessibili. Per istruzioni sullo spostamento e sull'importazione di dischi, vedere Spostare dischi in un altro computer.

Ricerche anonime su Google: Scroogle
Scroogle è un web service che camuffa gli indirizzi Internet degli utenti che vogliono avviare una ricerca con Google in forma anonima. Scroogle dà ai suoi utenti anche la possibilità di criptare tutte le comunicazioni tra il proprio computer e la pagina di ricerca, con un protocollo SSL.
Il tool è stato creato da Daniel Brandt, un critico di Google, il quale, preoccupato che Google raccogliesse informazioni sugli utenti, ha creato Scroogle affinché filtrasse le ricerche attraverso i suoi server prima di farle arrivare a Google. "Non salvo le cronologie e cancello i log ogni settimana.
In questo modo, anche se i federali venissero a farmi domande non conoscerei le riposte perché non ho più i log", ha dichiarato: "Non associo neanche le cronologie di ricerca con gli indirizzi degli utenti, così non posso collegarli.
Il traffico al sito è raddoppiato ogni anno, e nel dicembre 2007 Scroogle ha superato i 100.000 visitatori al giorno. Oltre alle ricerche anonime, il tool permette anche agli utenti di effettuare ricerche su Google senza ricevere la sua pubblicità. Scroogle supporta 28 lingue, ed è disponibile come plug-in per alcuni browser.

Un'altro motore di ricerca che rispetta la privacy è Yauba: sviluppato in India è un motore che definire funzionale sarebbe riduttivo vista l'abbondanza di feature disponibili in realtime. La caratteristica principale di Yauba è l'attenzione posta verso la privacy dell'utente che normalmente ricerca i contenuti che più gli interessano.
